This Thursday is the Whitefield Serve Day. Each class goes into the community to perform a service. Allison's class will be making welcome packages for ladies at a KCMO women's shelter. Parents were asked to bring in items to contribute to the bags. One item on the list jumped out at me - Mittens! I love making mittens and had a lot of wool in my personal stash, so I decided to get to work to see how many mittens I could make in 2 weeks - with a goal of 55 pairs of mittens.
It took a lot of time (most of the time spent cutting the wool), but in the end, I'm proud that I was able to complete my goal. These mittens are super warm and I'm excited to pass them along to women who need them.
