Sunrises

I wanted to take a few pictures of sunrises while I was back in Boxall so one morning I went with my Dad to the farm, and one morning I went to Little Beach with my Mom. We were back before Allison even woke up.

 

 

Belle Isle Park

After picking Allison and I up at the airport, my parents took us to Belle Isle Park to explore before we headed home. I saw an ad for the park the last time I was at the Detroit airport. Unfortunately we arrived as the buildings at the park (Nature Center, Arboretum) were closing but we were able to tour the grounds.

We saw some beautiful buildings that would be perfect backgrounds for photos, a gorgeous fountain, and a fun playground for Allison to run off some energy before we made the 3 hours trek back to Boxall, Ontario.

Allison's favorite part of the park was when she got to throw some change into the fountain and make a wish. (She wished for a unicorn).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When we arrived home the first thing Allison wanted to do was swim. My brother and his family stopped by and I was able to hand out some little presents I brought for the kids.

 I brought some caps (Cowboys) for the kids and they each got a hammer to start smashing. The only injury was my Dad when Dallas accidentally smashed his finger with a hammer. It was a very loud activity.

Tonganoxie Fair

While taking Allison to open play at the Emerald City Gym today, my friend Lisa called to ask if we wanted to tag along with her and her daughter to the fair in her hometown. Nathan is out of town for a conference this week so I happily accepted the invitation, especially because there was a parade. I love small town parades.

We arrived in Tonganoxie at 6:00pm but the sun was still blazing. Lisa and I cooked on the side walk while the girls ran after candy that was tossed. We weren't in an area with any other kids so they girls walked away with a their gallon Ziploc bags nearly full. 

 

 After the parade we walked down the street to the midway. There were a dozen (or so) rides, 4 livestock pavilions (cows, ducks, chickens, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits) and lots of games and food vendors. At first we bought midway tickets thinking we'd have to go on the rides with the girls but they were comfortable going together so they were able to ride 2 extra rides with the tickets we saved.

 

After a cheeseburger, pop, and fried pickle dinner, we all went on the Ferris wheel as a final hurrah! After our first pass, Allison turned to me and said, "OK Mummy, now you be scared and I'll make you feel better." So I had to say how frightened I was while Allison held my hand and comforted me.
