Furniture Hunting

Today was a very long day. We knew a used furniture store that had very nice furniture but that was a little expensive, so we decided to look at consignment stores and thrift stores first. We had a lot of fun in the thrift stores – the clothes are great and are so cheap! I love it! Nathan had to remind me a few times that we weren’t there for clothes. We went to one consignment store that was HUGE! It was the size of a Walmart and had so much cool stuff. It had a lot of furniture and decorative items, but we couldn’t find anything that really compared to the nice furniture at the first place we looked. We also need to consider resale value.

After a long day we went with the first place. Since we’ll be here for 6 months, and I will be here the whole time now, we really want our apartment to be a home. We picked out a few items and managed to do it for less than we thought it would be. Nathan is a little stressed because he feels like we wasted an entire day when we could have figured this out by 10am, but if we hadn’t looked around we would always wonder if we could have done it cheaper/better elsewhere. I think we made the right decision.
