T-Ball

Nathan has been wanting to put Allison in team sports for a long time but I wasn't sure that she was ready. Allison doesn't have a long attention span, and she's never shown interest in anything longer than a couple of days. I understand that we have to test things out and give her a chance to get used to them but I already feel so scheduled in by appointments, errands, and school, that adding one more thing seems exhausting.

We discussed it and decided to put Allison in T-Ball since the practice/games run from 6pm-7pm and Nathan is done work by that time (so I won't have to do it alone).

Tonight was the first meeting and Allison was put on a team with 6 boys (3 from our church). First, Allison was not interested in baseball, second, she was very sad that there were no other girls on her team - especially when she saw some of her school friends on the other team. The program didn't provide a coach so tonight, the dads from our church (Nathan, Mark, and Danny) ran the practice and the game.

Allison was impatient for her turn to bat, then she cried in the outfield because she couldn't get to the ball the fastest. She did like hitting the ball and running the bases. On the drive home, she announced that she didn't like the game and didn't want to play again. There is another month of games so hopefully she can get into it before the end of the season.
