Dutch Nationals

A family friend hosts and event called Dutch Nationals every spring. He has a large field that is very muddy and large groups of people (in large trucks) come to play in the mud. It's a (somewhat) family friendly event with food, a fire, and lot so mud. There are kids of dirt bikes and fourwheelers and most people just visiting with friends.

I ran into a few people I knew in high school and they were talking about living in the "city" and needing to get out of the "concrete jungle" and how hard it is to live so far away from their hometown. They were talking about a city that's about and hour and a half away. Even though it seemed funny that Mississauga seems so far away to people, it was nice to hear other people say they missed our hometown and that sometimes you just need to come back.

I went to the event with Fraser, Shelley, and their kids (my Mom and Dad watched Allison) and we stayed for about 3 hours before it started to get really cool. We all made it out with just a little mud on our boots - except for Scarlett who really got into the spirit.
