Today we met up with Shelley (my sister in law) and her extended family at the Little Beach in Port Stanley. The Little Beach is down the road from Main Beach, but it has free parking, and it's protected so the waves are generally smaller and better suited for little kids.
It was really busy today, but we arrived by 11:30am so we were able to get a great parking spot and a spot to sit near the water's edge.
A friend of Shelley's arrived with a paddle board and an inner tube and everyone wanted to try.
After we played at the beach, we headed down the main street to Shelley's mom's (June) house. June made everyone a wonderful dinner. While we were waiting for the BBQ to heat up, Shelley's brother, Gary, offered to take us on a boat ride. His boat is docked across the street from June's house, so nine of us crossed the road and headed for the dock. We went past the pier and each kid got a chance to drive the boat. Allison loved it!
This weekend is Harborfest in Port Stanley and yesterday I went down to the docks to take a picture of the tall ship that came to town. It was docked and didn't look too impressive, but today on our boat tour we passed the ship and I was able to get some great photos!
