Shawnee

This morning we decided to explore Shawnee, a small town about 15 minutes from our house. The town was hosting a Scarecrow Festival that had a pumpkin decorating station, balloons, a build-your-own-scarecrow station (clothes and hay bales provided) and a farmer's market.

Allison's favorite part was the balloon.

After our first stop we stopped at the historical governor's mansion, then at the Shawnee cemetery.

During our drive through the Shawnee neighborhoods, we saw this giant clothespin on someone's front yard. They are obviously very proud of it because it was on display.
It was only late morning by the time we were done with Shawnee so we decided to stop at McDonald's for coffees and then head to the Varna Park (where Allison had her birthday). We were the only ones there so Allison got a little extra freedom.
