It's been a week of Saba flashbacks. First, when we caught up with Martin and Marlene they surprised us with Tings- a Jamaican grapefruit drink that was really popular on Saba. I didn't even know they sold them in Canada. At first taste it brought back so many memories! It was a very thoughtful treat.
Then we were in Tim Horton's to get a coffee and who do we run into? Sally and Richard Shivers! Sally was the woman who taught me to sew/quilt on Saba and Dr. Shivers taught Nathan! We couldn't believe we ran into them! We sat and chatted for a few minutes and got caught up on all the changes that have happened in the last couple of years. Sally made an interesting comment that for her the time seems to pass so fast, watching students go through the medical school system, and for us, it seems like we've been in this forever.
After our Timmies run we spent the day running some errands and enjoying the warm sunshine that was long overdue!
