Now that she's older and is starting to enjoy the animals and it's a great way to get outside, we decided it was time to splurge on a pass (and this way we can treat someone else). Today was our first time using the pass. It started as a very chilly day so many of the animals weren't visible but Allison was just happy to ride the carousel and go on 4 train rides.
We stopped at the chimpanzee enclosure for lunch and since the chimps weren't visible we had the space to ourselves. We were sitting against the glass when suddenly, a chimp charged the glass and slammed into the glass right where Allison was sitting. It was wild! I hadn't even noticed that 6 chimps had been let out of the holding area. Allison wasn't scared but she didn't want to sit against the glass anymore.
After the chimps we went to watch the sea lion show. Allison got splashed by on the sea lions and she talked about it the whole way home. "The sea turtle wet my pants!"
Allison's favorite part of the day was when she found a puddle in the bird sanctuary and decided to soak her shoes and socks despite my warnings. She could have stayed in the puddles all day.
Allison had a few rough moments at the zoo, I took this photo after she sat down, refused to get up, and took her shoes and socks off. Thankfully, I got to her and grabbed her socks before she chucked them into the river. This tantrum came after telling me she was hungry and wanted lunch for over an hour (it was only 10:30am).
