Kansas City holds a "warm-up" parade through Brookside (our church neighborhood) the week before the large city wide parade. However, this year, it was snowing on the day of the parade, so it was moved to the weekend after. It was a little strange to be celebrating the day after the real St. Patrick's Day but the kids didn't mind - especially since today was 30 degrees! Allison loved getting candy from the floats but her highlight was a Wornall balloon that she brought home.
I was thrilled that the parade date was moved because it would have been too much to have it last week (the same day as the Arts and Culture event) and last weekend Nathan had to work. Nathan didn't work this weekend so he was able to meet us at the parade.
