While we're not where we hoped to be 2 weeks ago, we are were we hoped to be 2 years ago. Today was an amzing day because it marked Nathan's first day in the hospital - the hospital that he wanted to be in and made his goal when we first arrived on Saba. Nathan was nervous but composed. He didn't sleep well because of it, plus my cough (which left me sleeping on the couch) and the noisy up-all-night-man who stomps around at 4am.
He left at 6:30am and didn't return home until 7pm. He said his back and feet are killing him - he just needs to get used to standing all day again.
Nathan said the hospital is amazing. He wasn't thrown into the deep end like he thought he would be, but they (Nathan is rotating with a Saba classmate) will be getting to see patients by themselves by Thursday. The doctor Nathan is following is great, and Nathan says he likes to be asked questions and is making a real effort to slow his speed while the students try to keep up!
My day was quiet - I just cleaned and spent some time relaxing - it's been go, go, go for weeks! I also signed up for a knitting class that is held at the Westport Library on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. I'm really excited to learn to knit! It's my next craft project.
